Description
The Scarlet Letter Fine & Rare Historic Needlework Reproductions EUNICE BIRCHARD 1798 SAMPLER is new or new in opened package. There are three kits available, and one has been opened, but is complete. From the Hope R. Hacker Sampler Collection at the Allentown Art Museum, Allentown, Pennsylvania. GOD SAVE AMERICA stitched Eunice Birchard on her sampler in 1798 and, evidently not one to plan ahead, WHEN.T/HIS.YOU/SEE.THIK.OF.ME. Embodying all the naivete, post-revolutionary patriotism and charm of early American samplers, this simple piece makes use of cross and rice stitches. Recommended for beginning needleworkers, it is stitched on 30-ct., hand-dyed linen made to resemble the aged homespun linen of the original, in shades of rust, blue, black, olive, and rose. Finished size is approximately 8.5" square. Charming historical reproduction!
