If applicable, remove the passenger-side floor mat. Typically there is a plastic cover underneath your glove box. Detach the cover from the bottom of the lower dash. The blower motor will be attached at the bottom of the plastic climate control unit, disconnect the wires from the blower motor. Remove the screws holding the blower motor, carefully slide the motor out of the housing. Step 2 – If applicable, remove the spring clip and transfer the plastic wheel to the new motor Once the motor is removed, if you need to transfer the plastic wheel to the new motor, remove the spring clip on the end of the motor shaft. Be careful not to lose the spring clip—it's typically a part you can only get from a dealer. Gently work the plastic wheel off of the shaft. If a transfer of the blower wheel is needed, inspect it carefully for any damage. Step 3 – Reinstall the motor, check and reassemble the vehicle Before continuing, now is the best time to clean the heater assembly. Use the vacuum to remove the dirt, dust, leaves, and other things that may clog it. Reinstall the motor into the climate control unit. Once it's secure, reconnect the wires. Then reconnect the negative battery terminal and start your vehicle to check the function of your new motor. Reattach the cover under the dash. Replace the floor mat. Turn on the car and the A/C. If it works, then you have successfully replaced the blower motor assembly.
